We deliver care primarily through hospitals, residential care homes, and home-based services, as well as dementia support, community palliative care, rehabilitation, positive aging, and older persons' mental health initiatives.
About the Role
The Payroll Administrator plays a critical role in processing and maintaining accurate payroll records for staff, ensuring HammondCare meets legislative requirements and adheres to relevant Award and Agreement determinations.
This is a permanent full-time position based at our head office in St Leonards with flexible working from home arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and distribute pay for approximately 1,000 staff members on a fortnightly basis
- Answer payroll enquiries in a timely and appropriate manner
- Produce fortnightly and monthly payroll reports in collaboration with the Payroll Accountant
- Provide ad-hoc reports as requested by management
- Issue statements of service upon request
- Stay updated on legislative changes regarding wage and salary taxation
- Contribute to ensuring HammondCare's compliance with legislation, including PAYG tax, Superannuation Guarantee, and other payroll deductions
- Maintain payroll compliance with relevant Award and Agreement determinations
- Process new employee records accurately and efficiently
- Ensure employee leave balances reflect up-to-date information
- Implement overpayment recovery actions and documentation
- Update employee electronic pay files to maintain data accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to provide a professional service to staff
- Nurture good relationships with external suppliers, including Frontier Software, Kronos, and Advantage Salary Packaging
About You
- Commitment to align with HammondCare's Christian Mission and values
- Tertiary degree in finance or related field highly regarded; significant industry experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years' experience in high-volume payroll processing roles
- Strong administrative and MS Office skills
- Proficiency in computerised payroll and time attendance system ICHRIS
- Able to work independently and as part of a large team
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry
- Empathy and patience
