National Account Manager

Innovative and results-driven National Account Manager sought to drive growth and profitability for Simplot brands and products in the Independent network. Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Independents, this role will partner with Metcash customer partners to achieve targets for sales and market share.
About the Role
As a key member of the Independents team, you will be responsible for managing all retail sales activities, including business and joint category planning with Metcash. You will also partner with our category, insights, and revenue management teams to generate new business opportunities through NPD, activation, and pricing and mechanic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of annual budget metrics through ongoing evaluation of sales performance and making necessary corrections to improve sales profitability
- Ownership of the category/customer P&L
- Ownership of the 0-12 month forecast and ensuring baseline and promotional biases are regularly reviewed and corrected
- Building and managing internal and external relationships to ensure delivery of joint category plans/customer-specific business plans
- Actively involved in setting the strategy with the Metcash team through the development of a robust Commercial Operational Plan, and implemented through customer Joint Business Plans
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience working as a National Account Manager, preferably with knowledge of the Independent network. Alternatively, we are open to a highly capable National Account Executive or State/Key Account Manager looking for the next step up in their career. You will demonstrate a strong business and financial acumen, have the ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, and will be a skilled communicator across varying levels. Most importantly, you will have a very strong customer-first focus and be someone who is authentic and can bring stories to life.
