**Planning and Development Directorate**

The Planning and Development Directorate is responsible for the sustainable and responsible development of the City’s neighbourhoods - both residential and commercial.

This high performing team deals with a wide range of interesting planning matters to help shape the future of the City for over 220,000 residents and visitors.

**About the Position**

**Key Responsibilities**

The key duties of the Strategic Planning Officer will include but are not limited to:

- Prepare and review local planning instruments;
- Assess Local Planning Scheme amendments in accordance with legislative requirements;
- Coordinate City’s responses to State Government planning initiatives;
- Provide advice to the public and developers on planning scheme related matters;
- Undertake research and investigation on land use planning matters;
**About You**

A tertiary level qualification in Town Planning, or a related discipline is required for this role.
- Experience in local planning policy development
- ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- Good research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise decision making and judgement in a logical, lawful and accountable manner.

This temporary full-time position is a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement positions which attract a salary from $89,220 - $93,916 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

- A copy of your Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
