This Directorate is responsible for the ongoing delivery of the City’s sustainability program, as well as contributing heavily to the City of Stirling’s vibrant local economy, liveable neighbourhoods and thriving communities.

**About the Position**

The Parks and Sustainability Business Unit plays a key role in enhancing choice for our community and creating lifestyle and sustainable opportunity by, providing the parks, public places and natural environment for a diversity of passive and active recreation. Also ensuring that a focus on environmental, economic and social sustainability underpins all the City’s planning and provision of facilities and services.

**About the Role**

The Bushfire Management Officer is responsible for the development of plans, strategies and programs to manage bushfire risk within the context of social and environmental values, under the direction of the Senior Environmental Conservation Officer.

Some of your duties would include coordination and development of the City’s Bushfire Risk Management Plan in collaboration and consultation with relevant stakeholders including but not limited to other Business Units, Dept Fire and Emergency Services, Office of Bushfire Risk Management, Bushcare and Coastcare Groups. You would also undertake activities and projects, including the identification public and private property assets and establishing their bushfire risk rating.

This is a 12 month fixed term Level 6 Inside Workforce Agreement position and attracts a salary of $82,652 - $87,002 per annum.
