About the role
We are looking for a collaborative Library Assistant to join our Knowledge Commons team.

This role is responsible for assisting the team by providing a high quality, welcoming, responsive library service in support of the School's educational philosophy and policies.

This includes, but is not limited to, performing tasks such as assisting borrowers, circulation, processing, shelving and administrative tasks.

You must be aligned with the School's ethos, vision and values.

You are curious, excited and invigorated by learning and are a continuous, autonomous learner who makes visible their own learning.

You will possess a positive outlook, exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with a demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative relationships.


The successful applicant will:
- have relevant and demonstrated experience in a similar role; this is well regarded
- have completed or is currently completing Library and Information studies; this is well regarded
- be committed to delivering exceptional service
- be able to demonstrate a high level use of computers and computer programs, databases, printers, photocopiers and social media
- have well developed written and verbal communication skills
- be able to work as a collaborative team member and operate effectively within a collaborative team environment
- possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
- be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School's program
- have a current Working with Children check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement
- have a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement

This is a full time, ongoing position commencing early January 2023.
