About the Role

As a member of the City of Port Phillip Application Support Team you will have exceptional customer service and Geographic Information skills to make a difference to our staff and community.

We are seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) analyst and administrator to join our team to assist in the implementation and rollout of Digital Twin, Digital Cadastre Modernisation, and Clever Port Phillip Strategy.

You will have excellent communication and experience with using QGIS desktop, MS SQL, Technology One enterprise IntraMaps system and ideally experience using FME for data processing.

Your passion and commitment to solve challenging problems and provide high quality user support to our colleagues is an important part of this role.

As part of a small team, you will partner up and work closely with the assets and operation and our Desktop QGIS Users to coordinate spatial requests and build up knowledge for asset related spatial information.

You will also be involved in completing Property Information (M1) updates to continuously update Councils data.

Duties:

  • Contribute and support the delivery of asset related spatial information requests for assistance. Ensure that DTS project lifecycle is followed and all business, functional and technical requirements are identified, solution design and delivery plans are completed.
  • Ensure the key operational functions are undertaken in a timely manner by the Application Support Team.
  • Maintain and up Assist with the processing of VicMap data updates and submission of notifications of new, amended and incorrect properties in accordance with Council's Property Information Program agreement with State Government.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of Geographic Information Systems, QGIS, IntraMaps, Service Now, in an Assets related, Environmental, Sustainability or Transport function.
  • Ability to provide technical GIS 'Level 2' ICT Support for users, whilst ensuring, the management, maintenance, and continual improvement of QGIS, and IntraMaps.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GIS administrative practices, coordinate systems as well as knowledge and experience in GIS data creation, conversion and editing.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise own work, in order to deliver results within agreed timing, quality and budget targets.
  • Demonstrate a strong capability to conduct investigation, root cause analysis and solve complex problems and issues with innovative GIS Data processes and solutions using ITIL Service Now Principles.
  • Capable of producing cartography in print and digital formats
  • Management and maintenance of property information via M1 State Government property process.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer or Information Science field such as Geomatics, Cartography, Surveying or spatial Information is highly regarded
