Territory Sales Manager - Monitoring - VIC Western Districts & SA

  • Looking for a different challenge bringing our hi-tech Intelligence tools to the Dairy Sector?
  • 12-month Maternity Leave | Temporary (Fixed Term) Full-time position
  • Location: Warrnambool through to Colac or adjacent

In this critical role, you will promote and maximise sales of our Animal Health Intelligence monitoring systems to dairy farmers.

Your success in the role will depend on your ability to liaise with end users, key opinion leaders and influencers. You will also make monitoring system sales presentations to both individuals and larger groups and assist in the planning and implementation of monitoring marketing and promotions within your territory.

What You Will Do

Execute a Strategic sales approach by

  • • Maximising the sales and market share growth of our monitoring products in line with annual sales budgets.
  • • Ensure all marketing campaigns are well executed within your territory to maximise sales, making effective use of sales, marketing and training materials associated with the campaign.
  • • In conjunction with the RSM/NSM, execute key account specific sell out initiatives and marketing campaigns.
  • • Provide product training to industry personnel/end users and conduct on-farm visits.  
  • • Identify and recommend additional product and market opportunities.
  • • Gathering and reporting on local market intelligence.
  • • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with leading end users within your territory.
  • • Identifying, establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with key opinion leaders/influencers and advocates.  
  • • Devising and delivering key end user focused activities AH monitoring opportunities and maximise sales.
  • • Create and adhere to geographically structured call cycles, to ensure end users are being serviced appropriately based on their current sales, adhering to our expected monthly/quarterly/annual customer call rates.

What You Must have

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Agricultural/Business (or similar) related discipline are desirable, but not essential.
  • Ideally you possess sales/territory management experience in the Animal Health sector.
  • Knowledge of / experience in the Dairy sector is highly desirable.
  • Commercial acumen, and well-developed skills in negotiating, influencing and establishing collaborative working relationships.
  • Highly developed territory management skills including time management, prioritisation and objectives setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and also be collaborative team member from a remote work setting.
  • Highly developed written, oral communication and presenting skills.
  • Highly developed IT skills and capabilities across Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to analyse data and present analysis to external and internal stakeholders.

Regular time and travel away from home is expected according to business needs – approximately three nights per week.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Dairy professional to be at the cutting edge of dairy technology and at the forefront of industry changing data capture. Reporting to the Sales Lead – Monitoring, the role suits an individual who demonstrates a deep understanding of sales, territory management principles and strong dairy industry knowledge to help drive our sales to achieve revenue targets. You will manage and work closely with existing end users, as well building new relationships with end users to drive increased uptake and commitment to purchase Allflex/MAHI (MSD Animal Health Intelligence) Monitoring systems and products. This opportunity will see you collaborating with a motivated and inspiring team of passionate dairy professionals, in a rapidly growing business unit within a global animal health organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maximise the sales and market share growth of Allflex/MAHI monitoring products in line with annual sales budgets, managing a defined geographical territory that includes direct famer customers, as well as advocates and influencers
  • In conjunction with the Sales Lead – Monitoring/National Sales Manager you will also execute key account/territory specific sell out initiatives and marketing campaigns
  • Deliver product training to industry personnel/end users and conduct on-farm visits to sell Allflex/MAHI monitoring products
  • Collaborate with a high performing team, including MSD Animal Health team members to identify customer leads, and leverage the broader MSD Animal Health product portfolio
  • Identify, establish and maintain strategic relationships with key opinion leaders/influencers and advocates in your territory
  • Devise and deliver key end user focused activities within the territory to uncover further Allflex/MAHI monitoring opportunities, maximise sales and provide a high level of service to our existing end users

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant commercial experience in a sales related role
  • Knowledge and passion for the dairy industry and practices is essential
  • Tertiary qualifications in an Agricultural/Business (or similar) related discipline is desirable, though not essential
  • Demonstratable sales skills and commercial acumen
  • Well-developed skills in negotiating, influencing and establishing collaborative working relationships
  • Highly developed territory management skills including time management, prioritisation and objective setting
  • Ability to work autonomously and also be a contributor and collaborative team member despite spread territories
  • Highly developed written, oral communication and presenting skills
  • Highly developed IT skills and capabilities across Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to analyse data and present analysis to external and internal stakeholders
  • Regular time and travel away from home is expected according to business needs – Approx. 3 nights per week
