About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Case Manager to provide administrative support to our Judicial Registrars. The successful candidate will work closely with our legal team to ensure the smooth operation of our court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Mediation and Case Management Support: Coordinate the management of proceedings, including liaising with parties, organizing mediations and case conferences, and ensuring relevant case data is accurate and up-to-date.
  2. Registrar Court Work: Undertake preparatory work for the list, including listing matters on the Court's case management system, and ensuring the Court's case management system accurately reflects outcomes.
  3. Other Registrar Work: Support the registrar with all aspects of the work, including reviewing bills of costs, preparing drafts of estimate letters, and preparing orders and certificates of taxation for the Registrar to approve.
  4. National Registrar Allocations and National Training: Assist with the national allocation of work to Judicial Registrars, including drafting emails and corresponding with parties and Chambers.
  5. Pro-bono Work and Diary Management: Coordinate pro-bono work, manage the Judicial Registrars' calendar of commitments, and make travel arrangements as required.
Requirements
  1. An interest in the law will be regarded favourably.
  2. The ability to provide high-level administrative support effectively and efficiently.
  3. A sound understanding of the jurisdiction and practice and procedure of the Court or the ability to acquire such knowledge quickly.
  4. The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  5. The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  6. A high level of IT proficiency.
Selection Criteria
  1. Experience providing administrative and general support to a legal practitioner.
  2. Knowledge of the FCA and FCFCOA (general federal law) jurisdiction, practices and procedures, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  3. Good written and oral communication skills underpinned by exceptional attention to detail.
  4. Problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate a large volume of information quickly and to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  5. The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, including strong interpersonal skills, a proven ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships, and Court appropriate presentation.
  6. Demonstrated proficiency with administrative tasks and technology, including the use of electronic legal resources and the ability to learn and use the court's case management systems and courtroom technology.
