Job Summary

The Federal Court of Australia is seeking a highly skilled Legal Case Manager to provide support to Judicial Registrars in the exercise of their judicial and statutory functions. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong administrative and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to Judicial Registrars, including preparation of documents, management of files, and coordination of court proceedings.
  • Assist with the preparation of court lists, case management, and other judicial functions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the Federal Court's jurisdiction, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in the use of administrative tasks and technology, including electronic legal resources and court management systems.
Selection Criteria
  • Knowledge of the Federal Court's jurisdiction, practices, and procedures, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience providing administrative support to a legal practitioner or in a similar role.
  • Ability to evaluate a large volume of information quickly and manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in administrative tasks and technology, including electronic legal resources and court management systems.
Eligibility
  • Australian citizenship.
  • Security and character clearance.
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a probation period.
