As an Indigenous Inclusion Expert, you'll play a key role in shaping our social delivery plan, engaging with stakeholders, and developing relationships with local Aboriginal Community groups and Traditional Owner groups.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for building cultural diversity, developing strong relationships, and supporting our team around social inclusion outcomes.

You'll be based out of our main office in Docklands, but also travel to various construction sites to ensure project deliverables are achieved.

Project Overview

Inland Rail is a game-changing project, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program, consisting of two tranches – Tranche 1 and Tranche 2.

As an Indigenous Inclusion Expert, you'll focus on Tranche 2 works, which include adjustment of track alignments, provision of new road overbridges, and station modifications to enable safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Project's Social Delivery Plan (SDP)
  • Engage and manage relationships with stakeholders, including local Aboriginal Community groups and Traditional Owner groups
  • Develop and manage relationships with businesses, industry partners, and community-based organisations
  • Connect with John Holland's Reconciliation, Action & Advisory Committee to align project activities with our Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Organise and promote events celebrating days of significance, such as NAIDOC Week and Cultural Diversity Week
  • Collect and manage data, including reporting systems
  • Support the procurement team by connecting potential suppliers with opportunities to tender for work on the project
  • Identify providers for workforce training, including Cultural Awareness Training

Requirements

  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Reliability and ability to consistently follow up on tasks
  • Experience working with community-based organisations
  • Basic computer skills

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes:
