Job Description:

RMIT University is seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Coordinator to support the Office of Indigenous Education and Engagement.

About the Role:

The Coordinator will oversee communications and events requirements, ensuring effective and impactful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and communities. This involves coordinating internal and external communications, marketing, and liaison with various groups. The role also includes managing event activities and database requirements.

About You:

To be successful in this position, you'll need:

  • evidence of community connectedness and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and organisations;
  • experience in customer-focused environments and ability to develop rapport with diverse clients;
  • strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • well-developed written and verbal communication skills, along with strong computer literacy;
  • experience in communications and event management.

This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of section 12 of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act. Only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
