Salary InformationThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary, estimated at $106,000 p.a + 17% Super, reflective of their skills and experience. The role also offers flexible working arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package.
Job DescriptionIn this critical role, you will report to the Manager, Indigenous Education and lead the entry and admissions processes within our institution to support the access of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to RMIT. You will work closely with the Academic Registrars Group and in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the access and engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community admissions into RMIT.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the participation and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at RMIT.
- Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to build relationships and engage with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- Provide advice and support to students to pursue their educational aspirations and goals.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A degree and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field of education, or extensive relevant experience with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in an educational or similar environment.
- Knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an understanding of community needs, particularly the educational and personal support needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Experience advising and supporting students to pursue their educational aspirations and goals, with a demonstrated understanding of the educational challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
