Indigenous Community Liaison Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Community Liaison Specialist to join our team at Service Stream. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a generous salary package, work-life balance, and opportunities for career growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:- Community Engagement: Establish and maintain productive relationships with Indigenous communities, leaders, and organizations through direct involvement and liaison work.
- Cultural Knowledge and Sensitivity: Promote cultural sensitivity and awareness within the organization by integrating Indigenous perspectives into daily operations and decision-making.
- Advocacy and Support: Actively participate in grassroots advocacy and support community members in accessing necessary services and resources.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with government agencies, Indigenous organizations, and industry groups to stay informed about Indigenous issues and opportunities.
- Extensive Experience: Proven experience working directly with First Peoples communities, building and maintaining trustful relationships, and participating in community-led initiatives and projects.
- Cultural Knowledge: Deep understanding and respect for First Peoples cultures, traditions, and values, including knowledge of historical and contemporary issues facing First Peoples communities.
- Project Management: Experience in managing community-based projects from inception to completion, coordinating with various stakeholders, and delivering projects with tangible benefits for the community.
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Background: We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply for this role.
- Passion for Reconciliation: A genuine passion for reconciliation and a commitment to advancing Indigenous affairs efforts within the organization.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
