**Overview**:
VIOTAS has an opportunity for an experienced salesperson to make a practical difference in the energy challenge. The key purpose of this role is to identify, engage and contract large commercial and industrial companies to VIOTAS solutions that monetise flexible load, generation and storage and further the transition to renewable energy.
This is a role for a salesperson who is driven and disciplined, with a keen interest in energy. The individual should enjoy problem-solving, engaging with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, and taking complex solutions and presenting them in a manner that gives future clients peace of mind. The role is a mix of working from home and office, requiring travel to customers.
VIOTAS is open to early career sales professionals from a broad range of backgrounds who can be upskilled and supported by experts from within the business.
This position will report to the Commercial Operations Manager and will interact and take direction from the Director of Sales and Operations and their European management counterparts.
**Who we are and What we do**:
VIOTAS is a market-leading smart grid technology and services company headquartered in Ireland with global offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Krakow, and Texas.
Our business operates as a demand response aggregator, which works with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and key electricity market participants to help keep the grid secure. We achieve this by asking and rewarding consumers to reduce their electricity consumption when there is insufficient generation to meet demand and/or when there is stress on the electricity grid.
VIOTAS has recently established itself in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) however it is very well established in Ireland where it participates in the energy and frequency response markets using proprietary market-leading technology. The operating speed of that technology can activate load curtailment within the blink of an eye and thereby support the grid operator to increase the proportion of renewable energy that can be consumed.
VIOTAS operates a highly centralised business model with several shared services and technology development based out of Ireland. As the Australian entity grows it will offer more products in the NEM, also when appropriate, in the West Australian Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and/or other new markets.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead generation and prospecting.
- Identifying and creating new business opportunities.
- Engaging and managing customers through the sales pipeline.
- Delivering sales presentations & proposals and negotiating customer contracts.
- Accurately reporting to management on lead generation, opportunities, and sales progress via the company CRM
- Owning and driving the sales process from lead, through technical and market qualification, and finally to contract closure.
- Leading and co-ordinating the various internal teams through the customer acquisition process.
- Developing and maintaining strong consultative relationships with our client base.
- Contributing to product and service development based on industry and customer insights.
- Participating in seminars, trade shows and other suitable marketing opportunities
- Organising and presenting at our own sales forums and information sessions for consumers and clients.
- Hitting sales targets.
**Core Requirements**:
- Tertiary qualifications, preferably in a technical qualification.
- Full Drivers licence
- Recognised technical solution-based sales training also desirable.
- Generating leads, developing, and closing technical sales building relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Co-ordinating internal stakeholders through the customer acquisition process.
- Motivating customers, their delivery partners, overcoming their objections.
- Communicating complex solutions.
- Preparing and presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge of Demand Response and existing Demand Response programs and markets
- Knowledge of the National Electricity Market (NEM) energy and ancillary services markets
- Existing relationships with commercial and industrial consumers
- Knowledge of industrial processes, energy use and efficiency programs
