**The Role**
Make a difference in our community

Planning enforcement officers are responsible for promoting the image, appearance and values of the City of Whittlesea through timely investigations of alleged planning related breaches, delivered with high levels of customer service.

You will be responsible for:

- Ensure that the provisions of the Whittlesea Planning Scheme, Planning Permits, Section 173 Agreements are compliant as required by the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
- Educate the community and developers in relation to planning to raise the level of awareness.
- Ensure a high level of planning compliance throughout the municipality.

**About you**
Ideally qualified or experienced in enforcement related work, preferably in local government with some planning knowledge, you will:

- Be highly motivated and committed to the role;
- Have well-developed, investigative, problem solving skills and the ability to prepare detailed and concise documentation;
- Work well within a team environment as well as autonomously;
- Have proven time management and organisational skills required to deal with a diverse range of concurrent tasks within tight timeframes and with mínimal supervision;
- Have well-developed communication and customer service skills, an educationally focused approach and an ability to present a positive image to the community; and
- A current driver’s licence and preparedness to work flexible hours when required (including after hours).
