With the current growth of our community and the need to strategically manage our $3.5b worth of infrastructure assets, the City of Whittlesea has made the decision to strengthen Council’s Asset Management Team through the development of a number of new and exciting roles. Over the next few weeks, we will advertise four diverse opportunities to join the Asset Management Team, to lead, to manage, and to strategically plan for the future of all infrastructure assets within the City of Whittlesea.
- Coordinator Strategic Asset Management
- Asset Lifecycle Planner
- Senior Asset Systems Officer

**The Role**

Make a difference in our community

The Student Asset Planner position will assist the Asset Management team through providing assistance and technical support to maintain an accurate Asset Register. This is achieved through data management and data collection of Council’s drainage, roads, pathways, bridge, open space & building assets in a manner that is suitable for the operational teams to use in maintenance tasks, the capital works teams to use in renewal/upgrade/new project plan development, to use in reporting/dashboards and long term financial plan development.

**About you**

The Student Asset Planner will demonstrate an aptitude and curiosity for learning strategic asset management activities. You will be currently undertaking or recently finished a tertiary level qualification in a discipline of (but not limited to) civil engineering, asset management, data analytics or geospatial science.

The Student Asset Planner role suits somebody who is:

- _Technically minded_ (data analytics, GIS skills, PowerBI skills and providing technical engineering advice)
- _Creative_ (map creation and develop innovative solutions)
- _Has eye for detail_ (ensures data integrity)
- _Personable_ (great communicator and works well in a team)
- _Enjoys flexible working conditions_ (mixture of indoor and outdoor data collection activities)
