Job Description

The General Manager, Sales Operations will lead a high performing team to execute with excellence with a proven growth strategy. We are looking for an individual who embodies our core values to build our new Australia business and guide the team to achieve sales targets while providing hands on leadership and operational expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership of Operations and Sales Teams: Oversee both Operations and Sales teams, adding complexity with several direct reports also having dotted line reporting into group functions including Customer Service and Retention, Quality Assurance (QA), Human Resources (HR), Recruitment, and Training.
  • Call Centre Leadership: Utilise your experience and comfort with technology, systems, and workflows at scale to optimise our Contact Centre operations.
  • Sales Coaching and Hands-on Leadership: Lead by example, challenging and enhancing sales scripts while actively coaching and mentoring the team to excel in their roles.
  • Execution Focus: Maintain a keen eye on execution, ensuring that our sales team consistently meets and exceeds targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Energy and Leadership: Be the upbeat driver on the floor, motivating and mentoring the management team to generate positive energy and enthusiasm throughout the workforce, in line with the Neilson culture.
  • Market Disruptor and Solution Focus: Embrace our nimble and action-oriented culture, constantly seeking innovative solutions and strategies to stay ahead in the market.

  • Data Analytics: Leverage Neilson's sophisticated data analytics capabilities to track performance, optimize sales strategies, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Reporting and Performance Tracking: Oversee daily reporting on a regional, team, and individual level, using this data to make informed decisions and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaboration with Data Analytics Team: Collaborate closely with the data analytics team, which models performance against sales drivers and provides daily results to support sales leadership and coaching.
  • Matrix Environment Collaboration: Develop productive partnerships in a matrix environment, integrating Australian market norms and requirements with global processes and partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales leadership experience in a Contact Centre environment including experience in startup/scaleup environments.
  • Good project management skills, business acumen, and a commercial mindset.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to challenge and improve sales scripts.
  • Track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and execution-focused environment.
  • Enthusiastic and high-energy leadership style, capable of motivating and mentoring teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a market-disrupting, solution-focused culture.
  • Approachable team builder with a positive attitude and approach.
  • Comfortable with technology, data analytics, and systems.
