Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Amazon Web Services (AWS) Full time

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

AWS has a strong culture of data-driven decision-making; requiring timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence that delivers significant business value. We're looking for a hands-on and motivated self-starter who's passionate about using data to help us measure and drive the business and influence its decision-making.

In this role, the Field Sales Operations Manager will work with the Growth, ANZ and APJ teams to continuously evolve forecasting models, analyse historic results, and make business recommendations to senior management based on those and other analyses – all in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity. This will include working with the various teams to develop, implement and manage the business operations cadence, systems, reports and strategies that optimise business functions to meet organisational goals and initiatives.

The Field Sales Operations Manager will drive improvements to how we run the business, the reporting tools, methods, and processes utilised by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data to AWS's senior management team. This position also manages the administration and execution of the team's goals, measurement of goal attainment, evolving and driving various sales processes involving alignment between the cross-functional and specialist teams and our Sales teams.

This role will focus on providing operational insight to our business, and our growth initiatives, supporting the ANZ Global Sales Operations leadership in day-to-day operational activities, and providing additional analytical insight as required based on strategic projects identified. This person will play a pivotal role in the future planning of the business, working to develop customer segmentation, territory design and quota deployment, to align with the go-to-market model of the business.
  • You will be able to roll-up your sleeves, and work directly with the models/data.
  • Be passionate about your work, detail-oriented, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Experienced at working with large data sets and the technical tools needed to work with them.
  • Superb communication and customer-relationship skills, outstanding analytic insight, and be a passionate advocate for their customers to other internal teams.
  • Active collaboration with leadership in AWS Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence, Business Development, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting, and Compensation will be crucial to the effective execution of the responsibilities.
  • Drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems
  • Excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way.

Key job responsibilities
  • Working with leadership and other Sales Operations Managers to support the business unit's weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly cadence, performance management, annual goals, budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
  • Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, insights and dashboards to drive key business decisions across ANZ.
  • Lead the development and provision of routine and ad-hoc analytic reports to AWS senior management regarding strategic initiatives, partner segment performance, performance against goals, etc. Ensure reports contribute to business insight and decision-making, and minimize overall report burden.
  • Lead the modelling and development of recommendations for coverage/capacity/ competency planning aligned with targeted customer segmentation/verticals.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of existing and emerging 3rd party data sources as needed for Analytics.
  • Drive insights and strategic projects to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness internal in the Sales Operations team and in the field.
  • Contribute to the modelling and development of recommendations for segment coverage/capacity/competency planning aligned with targeted customer segmentation/verticals.
