Senior Process Safety Specialist

Nufarm is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Process Safety Specialist to join our team at our Pipe Road manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for providing sound Process Safety support and expertise through developing and implementing process improvement projects as well as supporting day-to-day operations within the facility.

As a Major Hazard Facility, the Process Safety Specialist is expected to guide the manufacturing team in the complete, sustainable, and effective deployment of the Process Safety Management System and Safety Case, as well as providing technical engineering support to minimize risk and meet compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the facility is operating in compliance with internal policies, standards, and relevant OHS and MHF regulations.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on the Nufarm Pipe Road PSMS and Safety Case.
  • Maintain the Safety Case to ensure its contents are up to date, correct, and verified.
  • Manage and comply with the site HSEMS.
  • Coordinate and facilitate site HAZOPs, HAZIDs, LOPAs, and other risk assessments.
  • Administer/support the site MOC system and processes.
  • Provide Process Safety plant support, contribute to the site's culture improvement journey, and participate in the site audit program.
  • Participate in the site Continuous Improvement Plan.
  • Participate in Root Cause Investigations.
  • Conduct regular in-field proactive interactions with the wider Pipe Road manufacturing team to ensure PS systems and processes are adhered to.
  • Provide effective leadership and subject matter expertise in PS continuous improvement and sharing of best practices at Pipe Road.
Requirements:
  • Strong industrial exposure with demonstrated extensive experience in a Process Engineering role, ideally in a Major Hazard chemical or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent investigative and analytical skills with the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and the ability to implement change.
