About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Development Engineering Unit within the Urban Design & Transport department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert engineering advice on design and construction approval processes related to new developments in our growth and established areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, innovative, and solution-focused engineering assessments and advice in relation to the forward planning of established and growth areas and the construction of Council's new assets;
  • Ensure that design assessments and construction approvals are provided within required timeframes and in accordance with industry best practice and Council-approved standards, guidelines, and procedures;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer;
  • At least seven years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of local government engineering, planning, and statutory reporting frameworks, policies, and procedures;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to work positively in a team environment;
  • A thorough understanding of the subdivision process and the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously;
  • A proactive approach to facilitating positive outcomes through flexible and innovative engineering solutions, in partnership with the development community.
