About the Role

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking an exceptional AOD Team Leader to provide leadership and oversee complex case management activities at our Townsville RSC location.

This role involves:

  • Monitoring the performance of and providing support to therapeutic staff to deliver quality, efficient, and effective services, in line with TSA and Recovery Services policy and procedure.
  • Providing leadership for team activities, attending and participating in staff meetings.
  • In consultation with management, identifying and implementing service delivery improvements.
  • Assisting with the development of policy and procedure.
  • Supporting management and other staff in accreditation and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of case workers to deliver high-quality services to clients.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with management to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Support the accreditation and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

  • Tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Social Work, or a similar discipline, and/or extensive relevant experience.
  • A Valid, Paid Blue Card.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the drug and alcohol service provision.
  • At least two years' recovery experience, where applicable.
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behavior, violence, and problems associated with substance abuse and psychiatric conditions.
