Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Trusts and Foundations to lead and develop our trust and foundation strategy, managing funder relationships and grants applications. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will report directly to the General Manager of Fundraising and Community Engagement, who is driving a new strategic approach.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive trusts and foundations strategy to drive growth and meet annual targets;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify funding priorities and match potential donors;
  • Maintaining accurate records on funders, including prospect research;
  • Nurturing relationships with prospective donors and securing multi-year funding commitments within the charity sector;
  • Leading the production of high-quality funding applications, ensuring timely submission and compliance with Charity Law and Data Protection legislation;
  • Providing guidance and support to the Grants Officer;
  • Working closely with the GM of Fundraising and other fundraising heads to deliver against the overall fundraising strategy.
Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
  • A deep understanding of charitable trusts and foundations, with experience in developing and maintaining key relationships over time;
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective liaison with diverse internal and external stakeholders;
  • A clear grasp of outcomes measurement and its importance in the non-profit sector;
  • Experience in budget management and preparation;
  • An unwavering commitment to aligning with our organisation's mission, vision, and values.

Prior experience in leadership roles, particularly in health charities, is highly regarded. A good understanding of Australian trusts and foundations is also desirable.
