Community Health Nursing Specialist

About the Role:
This position is for a Registered Nurse 2 who will work within a treatment team providing nursing services to individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities and their caretakers/families. The successful candidate will visit individual homes, identify factors contributing to disability, make recommendations for emergency or continuing care, suggest alternative treatment plans, teach caretakers/family members methods of dealing with emergencies, and provide advice on available medical, social, and housing facilities in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intervene and administer emergency treatment
- Engage in health teaching, individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy, or milieu therapy as necessary
- Work with community agencies as needed and ensure coordinated team treatment plans
- Supervise and counsel paraprofessional and professional personnel in health-related activities
- Participate in staff development and teaching programs

What We Offer:
This position offers a competitive salary range of $83,061 - $145,158 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, New York State offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
Requirements:
- Licensure and certification as a Registered Nurse in New York State
- Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, with one year of experience providing direct services to individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting
- Bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience; master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience
