Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in a community setting.
  • Conduct home visits to identify factors contributing to disability and make recommendations for emergency or continuing care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Supervise and counsel paraprofessional and professional personnel in health-related activities.
  • Participate in staff development and teaching programs.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, with one year providing direct services to individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
  • Substitution: a bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a community setting, visiting individuals' homes, and participating in treatment team meetings.
