Psychiatric Nurse Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide clinical consultation and training on all aspects of psychiatric nursing. The successful candidate will plan, supervise, and provide nursing care to individuals with mental illness in facilities and programs operated by the Office of Mental Health.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical consultation and training on all aspects of psychiatric nursing.
- Plan, supervise, and provide nursing care to individuals with mental illness.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
- Current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
- Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals with mental illness.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
- Master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
Notes:
- Failure to maintain licensure and registration may result in removal from the position.
- Exclusion from Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare programs may result in termination.
- Enrollment in Medicare and obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number may be required.
