About the Role:

This Registered Nurse 2 position is an exciting opportunity to work within a treatment team providing nursing services to individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities and their caretakers/families.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will visit the individual's home to identify factors contributing to their disability, make recommendations for emergency or continuing care, suggest alternative treatment plans, teach caretakers/methods of dealing with emergencies, and provide advice on medical, social, and housing facilities in the community.

Key duties include intervening and administering emergency treatment, engaging in health teaching, individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy or milieu therapy as appropriate, working with community agencies, and ensuring a coordinated team treatment plan.

  • To be eligible for this role, you must be a licensed and registered professional nurse in New York State with two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. One year of this experience must have been providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
  • A bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience, while a master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years.
  • Candidates must currently be a permanent Registered Nurse 2 or be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $110,000-$140,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
