Your New Role:

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef - Production Specialist to join our Catering team at our Somerton facilities. Reporting to the Executive Chef - Operations, you will be responsible for producing high-quality food items in a production-style kitchen according to approved specifications and recipes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to approved specifications and recipes, ensuring timely delivery within designated schedules.
  • Inspect materials and foodstuff to prevent spoilage and maintain inventory control.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and meet health and safety standards.
  • Supervise tasks performed by Catering Assistants and unqualified chefs in designated sections.
  • Maintain efficient sanitation services, garbage disposal, and chilling systems compliant with Gate Gourmet's HACCP plan.
  • Compile reports and documents as required.
  • Promote a safe work environment at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a bulk cooking environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing department is preferable but not essential.
  • Vocational training in culinary and related hygiene courses is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work across a 7-day roster.

What We Offer:
