Inside Australia Travel is a technology-enabled travel business that operates within the Fine Touring Group. As part of this group, our company offers a multichannel strategy through various platforms, including Inside Australia Travel, which specializes in selling Australian and New Zealand travel to international visitors. Our team relies on proprietary technology called TREV to offer highly tailored and ready-made tours with expert advice.

The role of an Inbound Product Manager at Inside Australia Travel requires driving the Australian product strategy, negotiating contracts, securing commercial agreements, and establishing a presence in the Australian inbound travel market. Working closely with the Product Team, you will be responsible for managing all IAT products (suppliers) in the Australian market, including building tours and onboarding suppliers and experiences for our clients.

This position involves mentoring, guiding, and training the Product Team. Some key aspects of the role include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with industry partners and customers
  • Negotiating rates, credit agreements, terms, and conditions
  • Effectively managing and supporting the Product Team to meet output targets, ensuring suitable training, monitoring, and development
  • Providing input and support for strategic decision-making and planning as needed
  • Assisting in implementing the IAT strategy by providing innovative solutions
  • Regularly communicating operational business and performance updates against key targets/metrics to the General Manager
  • Ensuring the product offering remains up-to-date, relevant, and appropriate for the business needs
  • Built strong relationships with key stakeholders and represent IAT at trade events to ensure IAT receives the best possible service and product
  • Organizing supplier trainings with the team on new products and any updates required

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of experience in negotiating positive commercial outcomes
  • A network of tourism industry and supplier contacts is highly desirable, particularly from an inbound or wholesale perspective
  • The ability to create new approaches for IAT if adverse situations arise, demonstrating resilience and agility
  • Strong values-based leadership skills to shape a customer-focused, cohesive team and business culture
  • Proven ability to understand business fundamentals, financial performance KPIs, and modern business processes and systems
  • Excellence in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • A high degree of computer literacy with proficiency in G-suite, Microsoft, and Excel
  • Sound numerical and data analysis skills
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Contracting or Business Development roles within the tourism industry, demonstrating negotiation skills
