About the Role

The Senior Advisor, Indigenous Access and Engagement, reports to the Manager, Indigenous Education, and leads the entry and admissions processes at RMIT University. This role involves working closely with the Academic Registrars Group and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to support the access of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to RMIT University.

In this position, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve Indigenous access and engagement at RMIT University. You will work collaboratively with staff, students, and community members to build relationships and create opportunities for Indigenous students.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community needs, particularly the educational and personal support needs of Indigenous students.
  • Experience advising and supporting students to pursue their educational aspirations and goals.
  • Excellent administrative skills, including accurate and efficient record keeping and use of ICT packages.
  • Experience in project management, with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build rapport with staff, students, and community members.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $106,000 and $130,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications

A degree and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field, or extensive relevant experience working with Indigenous communities in an educational or similar environment, is highly desirable.
