We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Director to oversee the delivery of key departmental financial publications, including the State Budget. As a key member of the Department of Treasury and Finance, Victoria, you will lead all production and communication aspects of significant projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, with experience in managing graphic design, ensuring adherence to brand standards and developing new brand identities. They will also be responsible for producing high-quality publications, collaborating with senior management and stakeholders, and maintaining excellent relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of production and communications professionals, overseeing workflow and staff performance while managing multiple projects and activities in an unpredictable and deadline-driven environment.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure timely delivery of key publications, aligning with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes, leveraging expertise in project management, graphic design, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in project management, preferably with Microsoft SharePoint sites for organisation-wide document management and large-scale publication workflow.
  • Proven ability to manage graphic design, ensuring adherence to brand standards and developing new brand identities.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills for working effectively with stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.
