In Melbourne, we have a newly created opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to join our fast-growing organization and work closely with the HR Manager and business leaders. This position is based in our Melbourne CBD office. The successful candidate will be responsible for HR end-to-end service of region Melbourne and may extend to other regions directly reporting to the HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The HR Generalist will work closely with and support the HR Manager on HR initiatives across all Australian businesses, mainly in the Melbourne office.
  • Implement HR activities such as workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and other employee relations matters.
  • Provide HR advice on employment legislation, HR system operations, HR policies, and processes, Employee Well-being program, etc.
  • Assist with negotiating enterprise agreements with the management teams.
  • Maintain HRIS (Success Factors) with new hires and employee data changes.
  • Support capability development initiatives, including training.
  • Provide support to the management team and implement HR programs from the organizational strategy.
  • Optimize processes and strive for continuous improvement.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (HR, industrial relations, business management, law).
  • 3+ years' experience in a HR generalist role gained from a sizable company, ideally Engineering or similar.
  • Ability to interpret and apply employment legislation such as Modern Awards and the Fair Work Act.
  • Experience with EBA establishment and execution is preferred.
  • Strong MS Office skills are mandatory, further knowledge of HRIS such as Success Factors will be advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong ownership culture with the ability to work independently.
  • Can-do attitude, with initiative and efficiency.
