Salary Range: AU$65,000 - AU$80,000 per annum

Job Description

This role is responsible for coordinating the admission and discharge of patients at the main switchboard of our hospital. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Admitting and discharging patients efficiently and accurately
  • Contacting health funds to verify patient details and financial status
  • Liaising with bookings clerks to ensure smooth pre-admission processes
  • Following up on after-hours admissions and entering relevant details into our system
  • Managing the flow of visitors through the hospital foyer and directing them to specialist or patient rooms

The Hospital Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, while working collaboratively as part of a team.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; tertiary qualification an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with WebPas Hospital system an asset
