Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Barry Nilsson Full time

The Barry Nilsson law firm is a national organization with over 60 years of experience and more than 430 staff members. The company has an award-winning reputation for leadership in insurance, health, and family law.

We have been recognized as an Employer of Choice in the Australasian Lawyer Employer of Choice awards for six consecutive years. Our people describe our culture as friendly, professional, flexible, and down-to-earth. They value the people they work with, flexible working options, and work-life balance.

In our most recent staff engagement survey, 93% of respondents reported that their manager was approachable, accessible, and responsive. Our employees feel that their manager genuinely cares about their well-being.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Melbourne as an Executive Administrative Assistant. This role will involve providing general administrative support for our team of lawyers and assisting with coverage during the absence of the Office Manager and Office Clerk.

Duties of this position include:

  • managing incoming calls and responding to queries via email;
  • meeting and greeting clients;
  • assisting with managing meeting room bookings and ordering catering;
  • setting up meeting rooms, including virtual meetings;
  • organizing outgoing couriers and receiving incoming couriers/deliveries;
  • ensuring the reception area and meeting rooms are maintained at a high standard;
  • providing general office support, including data entry, file management, and electronic filing; and
  • assisting with administrative tasks as required.

We're looking for someone who is well-organized, punctual, professionally presented, has a keen eye for detail, and a 'can-do' attitude. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as it involves interacting with both staff and clients. Previous reception or administration experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment, is highly regarded but not essential.

This role offers a range of benefits, including:

  • a 9.5-day fortnight while still receiving full pay;
  • an annual performance bonus (subject to eligibility criteria);
  • our health and wellbeing program 'BN Well,' which includes free EAP services, an annual health and wellbeing day, and health and wellbeing allowance;
  • structured mentoring, internal and external training and education;
  • up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents; and
  • a friendly team with an 'open-door' policy.

A salary of $70,000-$90,000 per year is estimated for this position, considering the location and industry standards.
