About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fire Communications Officer to join our team in Queensland, Australia. As a key member of our emergency response unit, you will be responsible for handling emergency calls, dispatching resources, and coordinating responses to ensure public safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage emergency calls and gather critical information from callers.
  • Determine the most appropriate response to emergencies based on available resources and risk assessments.
  • Dispatch emergency services, including fire trucks, ambulances, and other support units.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, including details of responses, outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other agencies to ensure effective communication and resource allocation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Current Blue Card (from Blue Card Services) and ability to maintain it.
  • Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Communications Centre Operations) or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to complete training programs, including the Communications Training and Professional Development Program (CTPDP).
