Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships

The Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships will play a critical role in advancing the philanthropic agenda of the Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) and the University of Melbourne. This position will be responsible for developing and executing strategic fundraising initiatives to support the faculty's Infectious Disease and Immunity research priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropic strategy to secure major gifts and strategic partnerships for the AIID and the University of Melbourne.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to secure significant funding for research initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic and professional colleagues to identify and pursue funding opportunities that align with the AIID's research priorities.
- Lead a team of fundraising professionals to achieve philanthropic goals and objectives.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts from individuals and organizations.
We are seeking a highly experienced and respected philanthropic executive with a proven track record of leading integrated advancement programs. You will have a deep understanding of the development of feasibility testing, systems, and models, as well as superior relationship-building skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to provide high-level, effective leadership and direction to staff.
