The Head of Philanthropy, Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics, is a senior leadership position within the University of Melbourne's Advancement team. Reporting to the Director Advancement, Infectious Diseases, this role will play a critical part in driving the transformational philanthropic campaign for the Cumming Global Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropic strategy for the Cumming Global Centre, aligned with the University's Advancement goals.
- Lead a team of fundraising professionals to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from key stakeholders, including principal gifts of $5M+ and consistent focus on $1M+ gifts.
- Collaborate with professional and academic colleagues in the Centre, the Doherty Institute, and University Advancement to foster close relationships with key stakeholders and drive fundraising efforts.
- Provide strategic guidance and expertise to support the development of the Cumming Global Centre's strategic plan and advancement initiatives.
About You
We are seeking a seasoned principal and major gift fundraiser with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns. Your expertise in major gift fundraising at the $1M+ level, combined with your ability to provide high-level leadership and guidance to stakeholders, will be essential in driving the philanthropic campaign for the Cumming Global Centre.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in major gift fundraising, with a strong track record of securing gifts at the $1M+ level.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
- Knowledge of major international and national trends in philanthropy and fundraising.
