Private Equity Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate to join our Australian Private Equity direct investment team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio company management.
Key Responsibilities- Support the investment team in reviewing and sourcing, selecting, acquiring, managing, and exiting private equity investments in Australia.
- Conduct industry research and due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of investment committee reports and presentations.
- Interact with third-party advisory and due diligence providers, including investment banks, management consultants, accounting and tax professionals, lawyers, and technical consultants.
- Assist in negotiating debt facilities, purchase agreements, employment, and other commercial agreements for portfolio companies.
- Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities for portfolio companies, such as acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new markets.
- Excellent financial analysis skills, including high proficiency in financial modeling.
- Superb quality written work product, including coherent, persuasive, and high-attention-to-detail reports.
- Ability to apply critical thinking in prioritizing work and analyzing investment opportunities.
- Strong team skills, including the ability to operate within team structures, cooperate effectively with junior and senior colleagues, and flex upwards and downwards when required.
- Ability to rapidly prepare and assimilate industry research from internal and external sources.
- Construct accurate and detailed business unit-centric LBO financial models, including 3-statement financial analysis, capital structure analysis, entry and exit analysis, business case sensitivity analysis, and other bespoke financial modeling as required.
