Position Overview
Our esteemed client is in search of a Solicitor to enhance their leading Band 1 Corporate M&A practice, specifically within the Private Equity & Venture Capital division.
This role offers the chance to engage with some of the most significant and high-profile private capital deals in Australia, alongside the opportunity to collaborate with our international offices.
You will work closely with partners in Sydney, as well as those in Melbourne and Brisbane, as part of our National Private Equity and Venture Capital teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in a variety of corporate transactions, including private mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and exits (such as trade sales and secondary buyouts), as well as venture capital and growth equity capital raises from inception to pre-IPO stages, including M&A for technology growth firms, both domestically and internationally.
- Assist senior associates and partners in transactions, which includes drafting and negotiating legal documents and overseeing due diligence processes.
- Oversee transaction management to ensure compliance with key deadlines and anticipated deliverables, collaborating closely with other legal teams within the firm to provide a cohesive service to clients.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, including involvement in business development initiatives, events, pitching, marketing, and thought leadership.
- Provide counsel on corporate law matters, including securities disclosure exemptions and employee equity considerations.

Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted practicing certificate from Australia or New Zealand.
- Demonstrated experience as a solicitor in a corporate or transactional legal environment.
- A strong desire and enthusiasm to contribute to a high-performing team while embracing challenges.
- A keen interest in our clients and a proactive approach to building relationships that enhance the practice's growth and reputation.
- The ability to navigate competing demands, tackle technical challenges, and maintain composure under pressure.
