Opportunity Overview
Our esteemed client is in search of a Solicitor to enhance their distinguished Band 1 Corporate M&A practice, specifically within the Private Equity & Venture Capital division.
In this position, you will engage with some of the most significant and high-profile private capital deals in Australia, while also collaborating with our international offices.
You will closely partner with our Sydney-based leaders as well as colleagues in Melbourne and Brisbane, contributing to our National Private Equity and Venture Capital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in a variety of corporate transactions, including private mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and exits (such as trade sales and secondary buyouts), as well as venture capital and growth equity capital raises from inception to pre-IPO stages, and M&A for technology growth firms, both domestically and internationally.
- Assist senior associates and partners throughout transactions, which includes drafting and negotiating legal documents and overseeing due diligence processes.
- Oversee transaction management to ensure adherence to critical deadlines and anticipated deliverables, collaborating closely with other legal teams within the firm to provide a cohesive service to our clients.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development efforts, events, presentations, marketing initiatives, and thought leadership.
- Provide counsel on corporate law matters, including securities disclosure exemptions and employee equity arrangements.
Moreover, as part of a team dedicated to working with venture capital-backed enterprises, you will experience:

Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted practicing certificate from Australia or New Zealand.
- Demonstrated experience as a solicitor in a corporate or transactional legal environment.
- A strong desire and enthusiasm to contribute to a high-performing team, embracing challenges and opportunities for growth.
