About the Role

We are seeking a driven, technically adept, articulate and highly professional Associate to join our Australian Private Equity direct investment team. The Australian PE team has country coverage responsibility across all sectors and works closely with Partners Group PE teams in the US and Europe who are organized by industry vertical: Services, Health & Life, Goods & Products and Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio company management.
  • Review and source, select, acquire, manage and ultimately exit PE investments in Australia encompassing all verticals.
  • Perform industry research, analyze investment opportunities, and prepare detailed business unit centric LBO financial models.
  • Draft high-quality investment committee reports and interact with third-party advisory and due diligence providers.
  • Assist in negotiating debt facilities, purchase agreements, employment and other commercial agreements for portfolio companies.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities for portfolio companies such as acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new markets.

Requirements

  • Excellent financial analysis skills, including high proficiency in financial modelling.
  • Superb quality written work product: coherent, persuasive with high attention to detail.
  • Application of critical thinking in prioritizing work and analyzing investment opportunities, remaining goal-focused in a fast-paced and dynamic transaction environment.
  • Strong team skills: ability to operate within team structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, co-operate effectively with junior and senior colleagues (locally and internationally).
  • Ability to rapidly prepare and assimilate industry research from internal and external sources.
