About the Role

In response to internal transitions and program expansion, CareSouth is looking for two dedicated Caseworkers to become part of the Wagga Permanency Support Program team.

We offer both Full-Time and Part-Time positions (4 days) to accommodate various needs.

At CareSouth, we prioritize fostering safety, healing, and connection through meaningful relationships. Supporting families, children, and young people is at the heart of our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting home visits to engage with children, young people, and their caregivers
  • Collaborating holistically with families, caregivers, and service providers to help children and young people achieve their aspirations
  • Working closely with a diverse team to share insights and knowledge to ensure optimal outcomes for children and young people
  • Documenting the goals, progress, and milestones of children and young people
  • Facilitating permanency for children and young people, ensuring they have a stable home environment

About You

To excel in the Caseworker role at CareSouth, you should be resilient, committed, and passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young individuals.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to the safety of children, young people, and individuals with disabilities
  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare or equivalent, or currently pursuing such qualifications
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable children and their families
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a high-performing team
  • A proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective community networks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, cultural considerations, and the NSW Child Protection system
  • A valid driver's license
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain the necessary Working with Children Check clearance
