About the Role

In response to internal transitions and program expansion, CareSouth is looking for two dedicated Caseworkers to become part of the Wagga Permanency Support Program team.

We offer both Full-Time and Part-Time (4 days) positions.

As a Caseworker, you will engage in a dynamic team environment that operates across the child protection spectrum, including family preservation, permanency support, restoration, and adoption.

A typical day may involve:

  • Visiting children, young individuals, and caregivers in their residences
  • Collaborating holistically with caregivers, families, and service providers to assist children and young people in achieving their aspirations
  • Working closely with a diverse team to share insights and knowledge to secure the best outcomes for children and young people
  • Documenting the goals, journeys, and milestones of children and young people
  • Facilitating permanency for children and young people, ensuring they have a stable home for life

About You

To excel in the Caseworker role at CareSouth, you should be resilient, committed, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to the safety of children, young people, and individuals with disabilities
  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare, or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable children and their families
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
  • A proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective community networks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, and cultural considerations within the NSW Child Protection framework
  • A valid driver's license
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain necessary child safety clearances
