With three decades of service to the local community, we are seeking a collaborative leader who can adopt a holistic perspective to help us enhance and broaden our operations to address increasing demands and growth in our services.
About the Role
Due to internal transitions and program expansion, CareSouth is in search of two Caseworkers to become part of the Wagga Permanency Support Program.
We offer both Full-Time and Part-Time (4 days) options.
At CareSouth, we are committed to fostering safety, healing, and connection through positive relationships. Supporting families, children, and young individuals is central to our values.
As a Caseworker, you will be an integral part of a team that operates dynamically across the child protection continuum, including family preservation, permanency support, restoration, and adoption.
A typical day may involve:
- Visiting children, young individuals, and caregivers in their residences
- Collaborating holistically with caregivers, families, and service providers to assist children and young individuals in achieving their objectives
- Engaging in supportive teamwork with a diverse group to share knowledge and insights for optimal outcomes for children and young individuals
- Documenting the goals, journeys, and milestones of children and young individuals
- Facilitating permanency for children and young individuals to ensure they have a lifelong home
About You
To excel in a Caseworker position at CareSouth, you should be resilient, dedicated, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young individuals.
The Wagga team is collaborative and supportive, so we are looking for someone who is a strong team player, possesses a good sense of humor, and is willing to go the extra mile for the young individuals you support.
As the ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:
- A commitment to the safety of children, young individuals, and individuals with disabilities
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare or equivalent, or currently pursuing such qualifications
- An understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable children and their families
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
- A proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective community networks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, cultural considerations, and the NSW Child Protection framework
- A valid driver's license
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a Working with Children Check clearance number and/or Working with Vulnerable People Card
