About the Role

In light of internal transitions and program expansion, CareSouth is in search of two Caseworkers to contribute to the Wagga Permanency Support Program.

We offer both Full-Time and Part-Time (4 days) positions.

As a Caseworker, you will be part of a dynamic team operating across the child protection spectrum, which includes family preservation, permanency support, restoration, and adoption.

Your Daily Responsibilities May Include:

  • Conducting home visits with children, young people, and their caregivers
  • Collaborating holistically with caregivers, families, and service providers to assist children and young people in achieving their objectives
  • Engaging in supportive teamwork to share insights and knowledge for optimal outcomes
  • Documenting the goals, journeys, and milestones of children and young people
  • Facilitating permanency for children and young people, ensuring they have a stable home

About You

To excel as a Caseworker at CareSouth, you should be resilient, dedicated, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A commitment to the safety of children, young people, and individuals with disabilities
  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare, or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable children and their families
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
  • A proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective community networks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, cultural issues, and the NSW Child Protection system
  • A valid driver's license
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain necessary working with children checks
