Located just 4kms from Melbourne CBD, The Farm Cafe is situated in a gorgeous country setting tucked away by the Yarra River in Abbotsford. The Farm Cafe is looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our team for the forthcoming Wedding and Events season.

Events & Hospitality Staff - FOH Team Supervisor

Located just 4kms from Melbourne CBD, The Farm Cafe is situated in a gorgeous country setting tucked away by the Yarra River in Abbotsford. The Farm Café is looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our team for the forthcoming Wedding and Events season. We are the sole food and beverage caterer for all events that take place at the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

We offer excellent working conditions which encourage growth and upskilling within the team.

Objective of the role
- To lead and supervise the Front of House team to deliver exceptional weddings and hospitality.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- Direct staff to set up and pack down for events according to run sheets, ensuring a high standard of presentation especially when delivering food and beverage service
- Liaise with the kitchen team to coordinate food service including dietary requirements
- Liaise with the Event Planner to understand the client’s requirements and the run sheet details to be followed for the event
- Ensuring safe OH&S practices are followed by all staff
- Opportunity to contribute to the ongoing improvement of events production, logistics and operations

Key selection criteria:

- Ability to supervise and give direction to a team of staff in a food and beverage service
- A warm, helpful enthusiastic and professional interpersonal style
- Commitment and enthusiasm for working with clients to deliver an event that surpasses their expectations
- Ability to solve logístical and other issues whilst maintaining a calm and confident manner
- Available to work weekends

Qualifications:

- RSA certification
- Valid Victorian driver’s license
- Hospitality or event qualifications will be highly regarded
- First Aid certificate highly regarded

Experience & Other Skills:

- Prior experience working as a hospitality supervisor
- Sound written skills
- Able to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and carrying
- Must have a mobile phone and access to a computer
