Position Summary
Catholic College Wodonga has on offer a traineeship providing support to teaching staff in the
implementation and execution of the College’s VET/ Technology programs throughout 2024. Applicants
must have a high level of verbal and written communication and understand the importance of planning
and administration. High levels of organisation and the ability to self-manage are essential for success in
this role. The successful applicant will complete a Certificate III in Education Support through AFL Sports
Ready.
- Child Safety - Be familiar with and comply with the school’s child-safe policy and code
of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety.
- Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for all students.
- Demonstrate duty of care to students in relation to their physical and

mental wellbeing

- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Accountabilities This role works closely with the Senior School Instructional Leader and the
Technology Domain Instructional Leader to support VET and Technology
students’ engagement and learning.

- Assist students as they plan, and carryout practical tasks as requested

by teachers.
- Support teachers in class with supervision of practical lessons and

activities
- Gather resources at the request of a staff member.
- Modelling SWPBS and classroom expectations.
- Participate in excursions (both day excursions and overnight) and

camps.
- In conjunction with the Trades Technician, coordinate and maintain the

VET/Technology Asset Register, and liaise with the Property &
Maintenance team with any required actions.

VET/TECHNOLOGY TRAINEE_PD_4.0
- Under supervision:

- Prepare equipment and materials for all teachers in O’Hagan and students.
- Clean and store VET/Technology equipment when no longer required.
- Monitor O’Hagan Centre and advise teaching teams of any OHS concerns

and report maintenance and safety issues.
- Assist in the organisation of key events in the VET/Technology calendar.
- Assist the Trades Technician, on occasion, with jobs and responsibilities

including ordering, equipment maintenance, preparation, and daily duties.

Qualification
- Organise and manage completion of academic work that is aligned to

the role within the given time frame. This may occur during:

- Selected times during school hours
- Additional times out or school hours
- Regular online or face to face supervisor meetings
- Attend a Trainee Development Program Camp
