About the role

We are seeking an Administration Officer to fulfil a role with a diverse range of activities. You will provide frontline administration including pharmacy reception with patient enquiries, financial administration with cash reconciliation, accounts reconciliations and non-clinical consumable orders and other administration tasks to suit the service needs of the Pharmacy team.

Key Responsibilities

In this customer service role you will provide front line customer service to patients and field internal and external phone enquiries.

You have the opportunity to interact with hospital staff to facilitate medication supply across the hospital.

Provides comprehensive administrative assistance across a broad range of administrative tasks including but not limited to ordering and collecting consumables for the department; filing, minute taking, timesheets, leave rostering, monitoring of mandatory training and performance reviews requirements; and administration support with recruitment.

Financial administration with cash reconciliation, cash till and maintaining cash float, ordering non-clinical consumable.

Courier management through packing and tracking of medications with courier providers, reconciling courier invoices.

What you bring

Demonstrated competence in administrative skills and an understanding of medical terminology;
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and experience;
Demonstrated computer and general literacy with accurate keyboard and data entry skills;
Ability to work unsupervised with excellent time management skills;
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in respect of hospital matters for patients and staff;
A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation

The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement.
