Integrated Water Management Officer

The Local Victorian Council Randstad has partnered with is seeking an Integrated Water Management Officer to join their Climate Change, Energy, and Water team (CCEW).

This dedicated Officer will play a crucial role in driving and overseeing the implementation and review of the Council's Integrated Water Management Plan.

Responsibilities of the role include developing and executing key programs and projects, as well as representing the Council in State-led Catchment Scale Integrated Water Management (CSIWM) working groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement the Shire's strategic Integrated Water Management Plan
  • Develop projects related to water conservation, water quality enhancements, and alternative water usage
  • Cultivate and manage external stakeholder relationships to optimize water management outcomes in the public sector
  • Participate in external policy discussions and initiatives, coordinating Council responses to new policies
  • Engage with the Catchment Scale Integrated Water Management working groups to advance actions from the 10-year plan
  • Support Climate Change adaptation and mitigation efforts, including flood prevention, drought management, and water efficiency
  • Promote the use of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) within the organization and oversee construction and maintenance of related assets

About You:

  • Hold a degree or diploma in engineering, environmental science/agriculture, or public policy
  • Minimum of three years of project management or strategic planning experience
  • Previous experience in local government or similar complex organizations is preferred
  • Technical expertise in integrated water management and catchment management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills across various stakeholders
