Your role


Join our industry leading Sales team as an Account Manager, servicing our portfolio of manufacturing customers within the Water and Energy sector, in this fast-paced, dynamic role.

Due to an internal promotion, we currently have a unique opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Account Manager.


Offering competitive remuneration, flexible working conditions and an impressive bonus structure, this sales role will allow you to utilise your expertise in nurturing existing relationships with manufacturing customers within the Water sector, while also hunting new business opportunities to grow your portfolio.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside a strong leader as a mentor, within a supportive and collaborative work environment.


Your responsibilities

  • Provide responsive account management and outstanding customer intimacy
  • Identify and deliver new business growth within your industry segment
  • Work closely with Product Managers to assist you in identifying, contacting and develop new customers, selling new products and increasing market share
  • Prepare and execute customer action plans to improve profitability and satisfaction
  • Capture market intelligence and competitor information
  • Offer astute insights and advice based on customer needs, to deliver appropriate solutions from our broad range of specialist materials.
  • Work with Supply Chain business partner and Customer Service to develop bespoke supply chain solutions as required and track sales/complaints.
  • Draft customer contracts and approval requests, liaising with Product Managers and other parts of business to secure best commercial outcome for IXOM

Your skills & experience


You are dynamic and responsive in your approach to working with your customers You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity, working autonomously, thrive on challenge and have excellent time management skills.


To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Technical capability. Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Engineering or related field will be highly regarded but not necessary.
  • Prior experience in B2B Sales and Key Account Management preferably within the water/energy industry
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build longstanding relationships, negotiate and influence.
  • Genuine new business development expertise with the ability to create opportunities through various channels
  • Contract management, bid preparation and contract negotiation experience
  • Understanding of the Australian Competition and Consumer Act 2010 legislation
  • Commercial acumen to truly understand the business development cycle, challenge current processes and offer insights to the product/technical management group
