Business Development Manager – Wholesale & Private Wealth Distribution

Remit

The firm is seeking an experienced and motivated
Business Development Manager (BDM)
to join its growing distribution team in Melbourne. This individual will be responsible for engaging and expanding relationships with
financial advisers
,
private wealth firms
, and
family offices
across Victoria.

You will inherit a number of key Family Office, UHNW and wealth management contacts to manage immediately.

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth asset manager offering a differentiated suite of private credit solutions and to play a key role in further building its wholesale and high-net-worth investor base.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with financial advisers, private wealth managers, and family offices to raise awareness and capital for the firm's investment strategies.
  • Build, maintain, and deepen long-term relationships with key wholesale clients and strategic partners.
  • Articulate and educate the market on the firm's value proposition, product suite, risk management, and performance drivers.
  • Deliver professional and engaging presentations to clients, licensees, and research consultants.
  • Collaborate with internal investment, marketing, and operations teams to align messaging and ensure best-in-class support for distribution efforts.
  • Contribute to business development strategy, report on market insights, and assist in identifying product opportunities tailored to high-net-worth investors.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and report on pipeline and engagement metrics.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in business development or distribution within
    funds management
    ,
    structured products
    , or
    private markets
    .
  • Strong understanding of the
    wholesale / financial adviser
    ecosystem in Victoria, particularly across IFA and family office channels.
  • Demonstrated success in raising capital from wholesale or high-net-worth investors.
  • Familiarity with
    private credit
    ,
    real estate debt
    , or
    alternative investments
    is highly advantageous.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex investment solutions clearly and credibly.
  • RG146 qualification or equivalent required.
